Artist Statement

I grew up going to my grandparents’ lake house in Minnesota during the summer. Sitting out on the dock with my feet in the water, watching the fish swim and the birds fly with the breeze, that’s my happy place. Everyone enjoying the company of the people around them and the cool lake on a hot day. There’s a sense of unity and tranquility, that all life has its purpose and we’re all connected in the big circle.

Nature brings energy to everything around it. Nothing holds more beauty or intricacy than the life created around us each day. It touches everyone on this Earth and reminds us of the wonder our world holds. Nature is not always the main focus of my work, however it’s my biggest inspiration. It drives me to create art that will bring that wonder and curiosity to others. While our days on Earth will eventually come to an end, life and creation are limitless.
