This graphic was created for a class I took on creating artist’s books. I have always had an interest in space, and wanted to create an accordion fold booklet that would pull out into a map that would display the relative space between the planets of our solar system. This stationery package was created as part of a rebranding done for MICA, a medical insurance company for doctors. A new logo was created for the proposal, with the stationery package being created to display it. This infographic was created for the 10th anniversary of the Fukushima Tsunami and Nuclear Disaster. It was intended to be displayed as a four-page gatefold in a National Geographic magazine and would have had an accompanying article. I created this typeface for my capstone class for an open-ended brief. I chose to create a typeface because it was something that I had never done before and had always wanted to try. I began by sketching out letters in several different styles to experiment with how I wanted my typeface to look. I chose to proceed with one that was inspired by Nordic runes, as I felt that it looked unique and would be fun to create. Once I decided on the style for the typeface, I sketched out the capital “O” and “E” to get a more accurate feel for how those letters would look. After sketching out my control letters, I created them in Illustrator and began to refine the exact measurements for the typeface and create more letters. As I was working, I made the decision to blend sans-serif stylings into the typeface to give it a more modern feel. I designed the uppercase first, followed by the lowercase and then the punctuation. For this project I worked with the Crimson Crew e-sports team to develop their first logo. This would be the logo that they used in any tournaments that participated in, so the team wanted something that looked professional but fun. The team specifically requested a crab holding a gun and an electric whisk. In addition to the logo, I created some mockups of what it would look like as a sticker and on jerseys. For this project I needed to create a type-focused poster for the Visual Voices Lecture Series that was being held at my university. There were no parameters aside from the poster needing to utilize type as its main way of communicating.
